How do I stake vegetables plants in containers??

I am going to grow some vegetables (ie Tomatoes, Peppers, etc ) In containers and I trying to figure out the best way to stake them as I hear some plants cab reach as tall as 6′. I am using 5 Gal pots and a potting mix that will not support a 6′ tall stake in the middle of the pot. I could drive the stake right through the bottom of the pot but that would defeat the purpose of why I am container gardening to begin with. I live in the N-E part of Indiana and we have pretty rough weather during the growing season so I have to be able to bring the plants in at a moments notice. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Use bamboo stakes and cut them to the desired length. Then use the twisty ties (the green things that keep the bread wrappers closed) or cotton string to ties the plant to the stake. As the plant grows, tie more spots to the stake to increase the amount of support the plant receives.
